IBPS RRB Exam 2019


IBPS is an independent body entrusted with the task of conducting competitive exams for recruitment to clerical and officers’ posts in the banking sector. IBPS conducts five exams every year for banking sector recruitment. There are two exams for probationary officers, two for clerical levels and one for specialist officers (agricultural, law, technical).

IBPS offers its services to banks in the public and private sectors, regional rural banks, and foreign banks.

Besides the above IBPS is responsible for the following services

– Project consultation: assistance in conducting examinations for recruitment and promotion
– Assessment centres that help organisations in identifying the knowledge and skills of applicants for the suitable positions
– Personality assessments using group exercises and interviews to identify the candidates’ higher cognitive skills
– Training programmes for senior staff to help develop their observational and interviewing skills
– Workshops for people who design their own question papers
– Lists of experts who can conduct interviews or group exercises effectively

RRB Recruitment by IBPS

The recruitment begins with a common process for RRB’s (CRP RRBs VII) of Group “A”-Officers (Scale-I, II & III) and Group “B”-Office Assistant (Multipurpose) by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) tentatively between August and October 2018. The process shall be followed by the interviews for recruitment of Group “A”- Officers (Scale-I, II & III) which will be coordinated by the Nodal Regional Rural Banks assisted by NABARD and IBPS in consultation with appropriate authority.

Any eligible candidate, who aspires to join any of the Regional Rural Banks listed at (A) as Group “A”-Officers (Scale- I, II & III) and Group “B”-Office Assistant (Multipurpose), is required to register for the Common Recruitment Process (CRP for RRBs-VII). For the posts of Officers Scale, I and Office Assistant (Multi-purpose) the examination will be two-tier i.e. the online examination will be held in two phases, preliminary and main.

* Candidates applying for the position of Office Assistant (Multi-purpose) will be provisionally allotted on the basis of the marks obtained by them in the Main examination and the vacancies reported by the RRBs.
* Candidates keen to be considered for the position of Officers Scale I, will need to qualify in preliminary examination and the shortlisted ones will have to appear for the Main examination following which the shortlisted candidates would be called for the common interview round by the Nodal Regional Rural Banks with the help of NABARD and IBPS in consultation with appropriate authority.

Candidates who apply for Scale-II (Generalist and Specialists) and Scale III will appear for a single online examination and the shortlisted candidates shall have to face the common interview to be coordinated by the Nodal Regional Rural banks assisted by the Nodal Regional Rural Banks with the help of NABARD and IBPS in consultation with the appropriate authority.
The final candidates are allotted the respective branches taking into consideration the vacancies as per the needs of the Regional Rural Banks. As reported to IBPS, the shortlisted candidates are assigned to one of the Regional Rural Banks according to their merit-cum-preference (state wise for Officers in Scale I and Office Assistant (Multipurpose)), the Government guidelines on reservation policy, administrative convenience, etc. The validity for CRP for RRBs-VII will automatically expire at the close of business on the day which is one year after the date of Provisional Allotment or until a fresh provisional allotment is made, whichever is earlier, with or without giving any notice.
Recruitment in RRBs being an extremely potent procedure which is dependent on various factors such as Imposed restrictions, Business volume and its growth, the health of the organizations, branch expansion, internal and external factors,structural changes etc. to name a few. The advertised vacancies are an indication of communication by the RRB’s.

NOTE: Candidates are strongly advised to stay advised to remain in touch with the updates on official and authorised IBPS website (www.ibps.in)

1. Candidate can apply for the Post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and can also apply for the Post of Officer.
2. A Candidate can apply for only one post in officer’s cadre i.e. for Officer Scale-I or Scale-II or Scale III.
3. Candidates have to apply separately and pay fees/intimation charges separately for each post applied for.

IBPS RRB EXAM 2019 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Every Prospective candidate should ensure before applying for CRP that they fulfil the eligibility criteria. It is for the notice of every candidate that the specified criteria is taken as the final for appointment to the aforesaid posts in the Regional Rural Banks. It is however noted that mere application, qualification in the CRP and a provisional allotment in one of the RRB’s doesn’t necessarily fulfil the candidate’s allotment in the Regional Rural Banks. The final decision, however, rests with the RRB itself which reserves the sole right to reject the candidature of anyone provisionally allotted to it through the CRP.The candidates are thus advised to note carefully the eligibility criteria specified hereinbefore applying for the post.
-Candidates must necessarily produce the relevant documents in original and a photocopy in support of their identity and eligibility – pertaining to category, nationality, age, educational qualifications etc. as indicated in the online application form at the time of interview/document verification, as the case may be. Please note that no change of category will be permitted at any stage after registration of the online application and the result will be processed considering the category which has been indicated in the online application, subject to guidelines of the Government of India in this regard.
Merely applying for CRP/ appearing for and being shortlisted in the online examination (preliminary and main) and/or in the subsequent interview and/or provisionally allotted and/or subsequent processes does not imply that a candidate will necessarily be offered employment in any of the Regional Rural Banks. No request for considering the candidature under any category other than the one in which one has applied will be entertained.

I Nationality / Citizenship:
A candidate must be either –
(i) a Citizen of India or
(ii) a subject of Nepal or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan or
(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

II Age (As on mentioned by IBPS)
For Officer Scale- III (Senior Manager)- Above 21 years – Below 40 years i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.06.1978 and later than 31.05.1997 (both dates inclusive)
For Officer Scale-II (Manager)- Above 21 years – Below 32 years i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.06.1986 and later than 31.05.1997 (both dates inclusive)
For Officer Scale- I (Assistant Manager)- Above 18 years – Below 30 years i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.06.1988 and later than 31.05.2000 (both dates inclusive)
For Office Assistant (Multipurpose) – Between 18 years and 28 years i.e. candidates should have not been born earlier than 02.06.1990 and later than 01.06.2000 (both dates inclusive)

The maximum age limit specified above is applicable to General Category candidates only. For other categories the following relaxations would apply:

1. Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe : Age Relaxation 5 years
2. Other Backward Classes 3 years : Age Relaxation 3 years
3. Persons With Benchmark Disability as defined under “The Rights of Persons With Disabilities Act, 2016” 10 years
4. a. Ex-Servicemen/ Disabled Ex-Servicemen (for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose)) actual period of service rendered in the defence forces + 3 years (8 years for Disabled ExServicemen belonging to SC/ST) subject to the maximum age limit of 50 years
4. b. In the case of Ex-servicemen commissioned officers, including ECOs/ SSCOs, who have rendered at least 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within the next one year from the last date for receipt of application) other than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or on account of physical disability attributable to military service or on invalidity, subject to ceiling as per Government guidelines (for the post of Officers) 5 years
5. Widows, Divorced women and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried (only for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose)) 9 years
6. Persons ordinarily domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 1-1-80 to 31-12-89-5 years
7. Persons affected by 1984 riots 5 years

IBPS RRB 2019 EXAM : EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

Office Assistant (Multipurpose)
(a)Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or it’s equivalent
(b)Proficiency in the local language as prescribed by the participating RRB/s*
(c) Desired candidates should possess Working knowledge of Computer.

Officer Scale-I (Assistant Manager)
i. Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent Preference will be given to the candidates having a degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy;
ii. Proficiency in the local language as prescribed by the
participating RRB/s*
iii. Desirable: working knowledge of Computer.

Officer Scale-II General Banking Officer (Manager)
-Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or it’s equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.Preference will be given to the candidates having a degree in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.
-Two years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

WRONG ANSWERS (APPLICABLE TO ALL – PRELIMINARY, MAIN AND SINGLE LEVEL EXAMINATIONS)
There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate; there will be no penalty for that question.

CUTOFF SCORE in IBPS RRB EXAM

-For Office Assistant (Multipurpose) Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test.
-For Officers Scale Exam – Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Main examination to be considered to be shortlisted for interview.

SCORES OBTAINED IN THE ONLINE EXAMINATION (Preliminary / Main / Single)

The corrected candidate’s scores for each candidate shall be normalized as per the equipercentile method.

All eligible candidates who wish to avail of Pre-Examination Training should fill in the relevant column in the ON-LINE APPLICATION. All expenses regarding travelling, boarding, lodging etc. will have to be borne by the Candidate for attending the pre-examination training programme at the designated Centers.

INTERVIEW – Applicable only for the post of Officers (Scale I, II and III)

Candidates who have been shortlisted in the main examination for the post of Officers Scale I and in the single level examination for the post of Officers Scale II and III under CRP- RRB-VII will subsequently be called for an Interview to be co-ordinated by the Nodal Regional Rural Bank with the help of NABARD and IBPS in consultation with the appropriate authority.The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks/scores in the interview for Officers

APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR IBPS RRB EXAM
A candidate can apply for the Post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and can also apply for the Post of Officer.A candidate is eligible to apply for only one post in officer’s cadre i.e. for Officer Scale-I or Scale-II or Scale-III.Candidates have to apply separately and pay fees/intimation charges separately for each post.

Pre-Requisites for Applying Online
Before applying online, candidates should—
(i) scan their :
– photograph (4.5cm × 3.5cm)
– signature
– left thumb impression
(ii) Signature in CAPITAL LETTERS will NOT be accepted.
(iii) The left thumb impression should be properly scanned and not smudged. (If a candidate is not having left thumb, he/she may use his/ her right thumb for applying for RRB examination.)
(iv) The text for the handwritten declaration is as follows –
“I, _______ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”
(v) have a valid personal email ID, which should be kept active till the declaration of results of this round of CRP. IBPS may send call letters for the Examination etc. through the registered e-mail ID. Under no circumstances, a candidate should share with/mention e-mail ID to/of any other person. In case a candidate does not have a valid personal email ID, he/she should create his/her new e-mail ID before applying online and must maintain that email account.
