CTET Exam : Central Teacher Eligibility Test


The Brochure for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test 2019 (CTET 2019) has been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). One of the most coveted exams of the country, the CTET 2019 examination is scheduled to be held on July 7, 2019.By passing this exam, candidates become primary and middle-class teachers at various prestigious schools—KVS, Tibetian Schools, NVS etc. The entrance test is undoubtedly tough and candidates need to work very hard to crack it. The selection of candidates is based on the merit list.
If you wish to become a Central government teacher for Class 1 to 5 or class 6 to 8 as a teacher then you need to clear Central Teacher Eligibility Test ( CTET) exam as it is the minimum eligibility criterion for the same.

CTET NOTIFICATION 2019

The notification came out on February 4th,2019 and was subsequently released by the CBSE. All Candidates can apply online for CTET 2019 exam through CTET website www.ctet.nic.in.
The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the 12th edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on 07-07-2019 (Sunday). The test will be conducted twenty languages in 97 cities all over the country. The detailed Information Bulletin containing details of examination, syllabus, languages, eligibility criteria, examination fee, examination cities and important dates will be available on CTET official website www.ctet.nic.in w.e.f. 05-02-2019 and the aspiring candidates are requested to download the Information Bulletin from the above-mentioned website only and read the same carefully before applying.

CTET ONLINE APPLICATION

CTET 2019: Application Process

The following steps are to be followed for application to CTET 2019:

STEP1: Log on to CTET official website www.ctet.nic.in.

STEP 2: Click on the “Apply Online” link.

STEP 3: Fill in the Online Application Form and note down Registration No./Application No.

STEP 4: Upload Scanned Images of latest Photograph and Signature

STEP 5: Pay Examination Fee by e-challan or debit/credit card

STEP 6: Print Confirmation page for the record and future reference.

CTET ELIGIBILITY

The Eligibility that a candidate needs to fulfil in order to sit for the CTET examination is as follows:

1. Primary Stage: The candidate must have passed Senior Secondary exam or its equivalent and 2-year diploma course in Elementary Education.

2. Elementary Stage: A candidate must have passed Graduation in a relevant discipline with 2-year diploma in elementary education.

Commencement of online application: February 5, 2019

Last date for submission of online application: March 5, 2019

Last date for submission of application fee: March 8, 2019 (before 3:30 pm)

Online correction in application form: March 14-20, 2019

Display of final status of the application: March 25, 2019

Date of examination: July 7, 2019

CTET 2019 ADMIT CARD

The admit card of CTET 2019 shall be available only on the official website. The candidates can’t download or get via any other mode. The process is password protected and the candidates have to enter application number to download it. After getting the admit card, the candidates should check all the details in it. In the event any discrepancy in the CTET admit card then the candidates need to get it corrected by informing the CTET unit.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

Along with the admit card of CTET 2019, the candidates also have to abide by the following:

1.one photo Id proof.- A valid photo Id can be PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Passport, Ration Card, Voter ID Card, Driving Licence etc.
2. The allocated exam centre and other details are mentioned in the admit card.
3. Candidates need to reach 90 minutes before the examination. Candidates without the admit card shall not get the permission to take the exam.

Nature and standard of questions for CTET Paper I:

1. The subject on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years. The test will target especially on
– understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners
– interaction with learners and the attributes
– qualities of a good facilitator of learning.
2.The Test items in Language I will focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction.
3. The Test items in Language II will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
Language II will be a language other than Language I. A candidate may choose any one language as Language I and other as Language II from the available language options and will be required to specify the same in the Confirmation Page.
4. The Test items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies will have a focus on Problem-solving abilities, and pedagogical understanding of the subjects. In all these subject areas, the test items will be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject prescribed for classes I – V by the NCERT.

The questions in the test for Paper I will be based on the topics prescribed in the syllabus of the NCERT for classes I – V but their difficulty standard as well as linkages could be up to the Secondary stage.

Nature and standard of questions for CTET Paper II:

The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning, relevant to the age group of 11-14 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics, needs and psychology of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.

 

CTET EXAM PATTERN

The exam is based on the National Curriculum Framework. The people who have the professional qualifications of Teacher Training such as B.T.C (D.El.Ed), B.Ed, B.El.Ed is eligible to take part in the test. It’s a mandatory qualification for one who wanted to be a teacher from Class I to class VIII.

ELIGIBILITY TO PASS THE CTET EXAM

A candidate has to score over 60 per cent to clear the eligibility test. The exam consists of two papers

NOTE: The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) maintains the database and guides the government bodies about conducting the test.

So the TET exam is a minimum criterion for recruitment to state board schools and CTET is aimed at recruitment of primary and middle-level prestigious schools in the country.
