What is the pattern of the PCS Punjab Mains exam?


The Mains consists of entirely essay type questions. and basically comprises of a written examination of 7 papers mostly containing conventional questions. All the papers are elaborative with each paper of 3 hours duration.

As mentioned above there will be seven compulsory papers with the candidate having the options to answer in either of the two languages English or Punjabi. The only exception to this rule is the language papers of English and Punjabi which has to be answered in their respective languages
The question papers shall be set in English. However, there might be some candidates who would be keen to attempt the question paper in Punjabi medium, the question papers shall be printed in Punjabi accordingly.
