What are your suggestions for some good test series and book lists for PCS (Punjab Civil Service) exam? ?


In case you are starting off for the PCS examination, we advise you to have an in-depth knowledge of History, Geography and Political science of India. We recommend you to have a good General knowledge Book like Lucent GK. Besides the knowledge about the state is vital in order to score high in the examination. Also, the same approach should be repeated by getting the information for the state. Though the strategy of each student differs, however, one of the strategies that work with most of the candidates is given below.

PRELIMINARY Exam preparation : For the Preliminary examination, it is always a great strategy to read standard books. Many successful candidates have stressed following the NCERT High school books from IX grade onwards to the XII.Also, the other popular reference books to be followed are Laxmikant for Polity, Bipinchandra for History, Ramesh Singh for Economics, GS Leong for geography, Rangla Punjab for Punjab and Science Reporter magazine and India Yearbook for science and Technology. Classroom coaching from a reputed institute can always turn out to be helpful in the exam preparation. There are many noteworthy shops which have copies of notes from reputed institutes. Some of the other online sources that can turn out to be helpful are Mrunal’s notes, Unacademy, PIB releases etc. Besides, the candidate should be aware of all the updates by the PPSC.

The CSAT exam can be prepared by practising questions on analogies, Data Interpretation, Data Sufficiency and books like RS Aggarwal for Maths and Manish Pandey for logical reasoning had been apt for the preparation. Newspaper reading is a must and is extremely helpful in the exam. Another important strategy for the candidate to understand is that he should aim to attempt at least 80% of the questions.
