The second task is very different from the first one. The introduction is the most important part of the essay as it summarizes the content of the essay. In task 2, the introduction must consist of a minimum of 5 sentences. Anything less does not have the desired effect. Usually, the IELTS exam gives you two essay topics to choose from. The introduction should never contain your opinion. In such a case you have to give an opinion and stick to one side.
After the introduction comes the second paragraph which is the body of the essay. The body can have two-three paragraphs. In the first paragraph, you should give the positives or the advantages of the given topic and if you’re supporting it, then why are you supporting it. In the next paragraph, give the negatives or the disadvantages of the topic and its effects.
